Syberia: The World Before Release Date, Trailer

Last Updated:

Despite the drought of point-and-click adventure games in North America in the early 2000s, in Europe, the genre didn’t go anywhere. Syberia was one of the games produced during that euro-centric time in the genre’s history, and now Syberia: The World Before is bringing the game’s protagonist for the fourth entry.

Whether you’re already a fan of the series, or someone just hearing about it for the first time, there’s a lot to be excited for. Check out the release info that we’ve compiled for you down below.

Syberia: The World Before Release Date

For such a long-running series, there have been a couple of big breaks in development. Between the second and third entries in the series, there was a 13-year gap in game releases, and it’s already been 5 years since that game was released. Quite a difference compared with the 2-year gap between the first and second games.

It does at least look like the gap between this and the third entry isn’t going to be getting much bigger. Syberia: The World Before will finally be hitting digital store shelves on March 18th, 2022.

Syberia: The World Before Trailer

Syberia: The World Before is a pretty classic example of a point-and-click adventure game. You control your character in the 3rd person and move them around using your mouse cursor. Unlike many modern adventures games, this one doesn’t go for the more streamlined approach of directly controlling your character, and having interactable objects popping up as context-sensitive prompts.

This does mean that the gameplay is going to be familiar to any hardcore point-and-click fans out there, which is a great way of calling back to the series’ history. There are some other returning elements from previous titles as well. We already mentioned series protagonist Kate Walker is coming back once more, but you’ll also find a lot of those clockwork contraptions that made the world of the original game feel so unique.

You can check out the trailer below. It’s more interested in showing off the world than the gameplay, but with a world this interesting it’s hard to blame them.
